The Wonderlens is used for the fast and interactive exploration of network visualizations. It increases
the level of detail within its focus region by annotating and enlarging the contained network elements. At
the same time, it preserves the visualization of the network elements placed outside of the lens.
mapMap Exploration
The Wonderlens supports the user in exploring the local area. The lens can be used to temporally
enrich a map with further information by annotating point of interests such as restaurants and bus
stops. Moreover, the colored section of the lens indicates the walking distance from the user's
current location to these stops. This helps the user make daily decisions, for example finding
interesting spots and where to head to next.

The Wonderlens supports the user in exploring a computer network spread over multiple building. When
hovering the lens over a building, the user gets a first glimpse of the internal networks. Finally,
when releasing the lens on top of a building, the user gets detailed information about its network.

storageData Exploration
The Wonderlens supports the user in exploring large networks by revealing their structure step by
step. When hovering over the network, the lens annotates the contained nodes with important
information. This supports the user in quickly deciding whether this part of the network contains
relevant information. Once the lens is released, it also shows the unrevealed neighbors for each
contained nodes. The user can use intuitive mouse controls to reveal these neighbors, adding them to
the underlying network layout.
